Policies and Practices for All Involved
As a participant, attendee, presenter, or volunteer for First Light Con (“FLC”) you agree to follow this Code of Conduct during your entire time at FLC or any time you are acting on behalf of FLC in any capacity.
Briefly: Be nice. Be kind. Obey all applicable laws. Heed all policies and regulations of the property you happen to find yourself in.
If you do not follow this Code of Conduct, you will be ejected politely but firmly without refund and without the option to appeal. Any illegal behavior or activity will be immediately reported to law enforcement.
We embrace and fully enforce a No Harassment environment. This includes but is not limited to unwelcome physical and/or verbal interactions or contact, stalking, causing a disturbance, behavior that is disruptive or dangerous, objectively lewd or offensive behavior or language, and sexually explicit or offensive language and/or gestures.
Cosplay or any other forms of personal expression do not imply consent.
If you have “personally held beliefs” that compel you to confront or impede the choices of others, FLC is not the event for you.
FLC is committed to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion. We acknowledge the harmful impacts of racism, sexism, ageism, homophobia, transphobia, and other forms of discrimination and exclusion on science, engineering, society, and nations. We embrace the most current, peer-reviewed research. [See summaries from the Association of Psychological Science.]
